No, cd's aren't frozen. at least not yet:-)
aparently I'm stupid.
you know the phrase, If something doesn't turn on,
check the plug?
It seems either the wife, the cat, or the dog bumped
into, rubbed up against, played with, licked the volume
knob on my amp. I drove home for lunch and listened to
the cd in the car. MUCH better.
oh yes, much better. For the life of me I couldn't
understand why he would process the whole cd like that.
It was like having the volume cranked, but being barely
able to hear it.

I still can't beleive I didn't think to check the
levels, or a different cd, or a different player. Guess
I was just too upset.
