Waits or his management were charging over the
odds in the first place, ?65 for London where Dylan
played last year for ?35. No 'similar' artist charges
as much, and he did so because he knew people
would pay it as he tours so rarely .That's
capitalism, folks! As for why so few shows, I also
think it's perfectionism on his part, to play live when
he's not completely in control of the sound
