"Frank’s Wild Years ". First Waits song that I heard
(that I knew of), Started this whole sorry business.
"Dave the Butcher." Still can just about listen to it
on my own.
"Cemetary Polka" ‘Independent as a Hog on Ice’ Say no
more..
"Martha". Bitter sweet, friend of mine sings it to me
every couple of years whenever she is drunk enough.
“Piano Has been Drinking”. You know, because it is
what it is.
“Bad Liver and a Broken Heart”. That voice sandpapers
your soul till it’s almost smooth again.
“Fumblin with the Blues”. I sometimes sing this for no
apparent reason.
“I hope that I don’t fall in love with you.” Wife
wouldn’t let me have it on our wedding.
“Don’t go into That Barn”. Favourite off ’Real Gone’
, so far anyway.
“Murder in the Red Barn”. I have a barn thing going on.
“What’s he Building ? “ This is “our song”. I think.
“Filipino Box Spring Hog”. That’s eleven, so better stop .
