Damn Gin this is serious stuff. I take you back to
the 70s. The Hague or Amsterdam, I don't quite
remember (must have been the rasta herbes eh?)
Bob Marley and the Wailers. Me and my girlfriend were
early so we sat right in front of the stage. Had to
wait a couple of hours but what the hell we wanted to
see the dreadlocks swing, right.
In came a group of rijksgenoten.

OK I have to give a historical lecture here. Holland
has been a colonial power for centuries. Slavetrade,
oppressing the people of Aceh or Atjeh, Indonesia
(yes the same ) etc. you name it we did it.
For those excact reasons you feel guilty as an
allwhitedutchboy, well I do.
But the people that claimed centerstage were
arrogant, rude, violent and I was shocked, me and my
girlfriend ended up right at the back and I don't
even remember if the show was any good.
Well to make the link, there are good people and
bastards and that has nothing to do with gender, race
or artists or fans or what have you.
But that doesn't answer your question I guess, does
it affect the appreciation of the artist when you
find out he's an asshole, have to think more...
