It ain't no sin, to take off your skin
and dance around in your bones...

Somebody suggested earlier that these lines did
not "count", as they were not written by Tom, (but by
William Burroughs), but in fact I think that Tom did
write these lyrics. It is only Burroughs who speaks
them on The Black Rider, but on the cd sleeve it says
that all lyrics are by Tom Waits, so he must have
written these words. Beautiful no? Full of beauty. I
love the image of a dancing skeleton ;-). It is
funny. Besides, these lines also seem to carry an
encouraging message, like: OK, forget about what
other people may think, don't be inhibited, if you
feel like dancing around in your bones, do it.

***

Let us all dare to dance around in our bones folks,
whereever we're from, let us all "show" ourselves to
the others. Once we're all naked to the skin, and
even further than that, naked to the bones, we will
all be equal, and we can at last all dance, instead
of fight.

OK, this is my small message to the world now,
inspired by borrowed (Burrough-ed) lines from Tom.
