I think you make some valid points Zimbra, and I too
had to pay significantly more than face value for the
two shows I managed to get to.
The value of the tickets is as much as people are
prepared to pay for them, in many cases upwards of 300
sterling. I have no regrets over paying that amount
for fantastic memories, and whilst I feel sorry for
some of those who might not have been able to afford
those prices, you could argue that there are many
billions on this planet who would wish that their
greatest worry was not getting to see a two hour
concert!
Personally it has been the inconsistency over ticket
sales that is infuriating; being told the show is sold
out after a couple of hours on the phone, only to hear
of others getting good seats as late as the evening of
the show.
To hear that 1400 out of 3400 tickets for London were
not put on general sale, for his first concert for 17
years, is upsetting when you have spent hours on the
phone trying to buy the tickets officially, and then
more hours trying not to get ripped off on ebay.

Zimbra you, much like me, are lucky enough to be able
to afford ebay prices. We should thank our lucky stars
that we weren't born 'on the other side of the tracks'.
