Well I'm sorry about the hens.

I think your concern about their laying is
communicating itself to them. Try to relax. Drop little
comments like " don't really know if I fancy an egg
today" into your mother hen patter as you are feeding
them.
This way, you will not add to the pressure but at the
same time let them know you might like an egg if there
was one available.

Wind chimes lend a certain ambience to the chicken run.
Clean bedding,fresh rainwater( not tap water, too much
chlorine and treatment in there) maybe soft music in
the background.

Maintain a cheery disposition at all times.

Try this for three weeks and then wring the bastards'
necks.


The injury is better than expected, and all sympathy
gratefully received. I got it sparring in Karate
training. Wlaked after the keyhole surgery, doing well.
May have to go back to work after a few weeks, or the
money runs out -whichever comes first.
