Hey guys!

Just wanted to spread the word, I got a bit excited
when I heard this…. It’s called the International
Songwriting Competition. It’s a pretty legit
competition. A lot of people I know have entered, and
actually placed!
So the reason for all the excitement, they just
extended their deadline till November 17th 2006. They
usually end the deadline October 16th, so this is a
great opportunity for all of us. I have friends who
wanted to enter, but have gone about it half-ass, but
now they know it’s a great second chance!

Now if you’re a big Tom Waits fan like myself, you will
be excited to know he is going to be judging! It’s
absurd to think he is actually going to listen and
judge my music… And what’s even crazier, is the other
judges like Robert Smith, Brian Wilson, Isaac Brock, etc…

And then there’s the obvious reason for entering… The
grand prize is $150,000 in cash and $20,000 in prizes.
And by prizes I mean ways they help an artist better
themselves whether it be equipment, studio time, pretty
much anything a band needs to get started. I know, I
know, I sound like an infomercial, but even Pitchfork
wrote an article about them, saying it’s like they’re
giving away free ice cream!
