Yes, yesterday I was wondering how many shows you
would attend and was thinking that if you come from
so far it would be nice to see two shows. Funny eh,
that you mention this now. Anyway, yes I do have a
suggestion. I saw one advertisement on ebay, I think
for the show on Saturday (for 100 Euro, but I guess
that price will go up soon). Another possibility is
to call Carré and check every now and then, to hear
if tickets returned, I can do that for you if you
like, in the coming days. What day do you attend the
show now? 19th? And how long do you have in Amsterdam?

I'll get back on this later.

H.

A small tip by the way: it might be nice to bring a
good binoculars, just in case the seats are a bit far
from the stage (do you have first rang?). I brought a
binoculars to the show in The Hague, on 20 July 1999.
During this particular show, which was in a dull
conference hall, some people did not want to stay on
their dull business like seats and about 100 to 150
people walked up front close to the stage. I was one
of them. And then, as security tried to do their
work, I climbed ONTO the stage, and sat there on the
left side of the stage. Security told me about two or
three times to get off the stage, but I thought that
I did really no harm sitting perfectly still all the
way to the left, and not in anybody's way either,
hampering nobody's sight (the hall in The Hague is
built in quite a different way from the hall in
Carré). So there I was, ON the stage, and WITH a
binoculars. When the security people saw that
everyone was behaving quietly and nicely they left us
alone and I could remain where I was sitting. I could
count the hairs on the man's face ;-). I will never
forget the sight of the musicians (especially Tom of
course) from so close by, and also in those beautiful
colours from the stage lightning, red, purple. Great.
During one song his son who was then about 13 I think
played the drums, it must have been Casey I think who
now plays the "turntables", or as the Belgians
say "platendraaier". So, there may be an advantage in
bringing a binoculars. A possible disadvantage is
that you may get somewhat distracted, thinking about
those same binoculars, and not watching direcly. Like
it is sometimes better to watch nature directly
instead of through a photocamera, but this is for you
to decide. Another possible disadvantage could be
that Carré will not allow people to bring binoculars,
I that case you may have to hand it in at the
entrance, I am not sure of that, it was no problem in
The Hague. And a final disadvantage could be that
people keep asking you all the time if they can have
a look to, which again is distracting. You may end up
following your binoculars being passed on through the
whole building ;-)

So far for now.
