INteresting reading there.
In Ireland, he used to be known as San Nicolas , which
was funny because the irish for "Saint" is "Naomh"
(nee-av), but the American/British "Santa Claus" thing
has taken over , apart from calling him "Santy" rather
than "Santa". We leave carrots out for the reindeer and
a glass of whiskey and a few biscuits for the big man.
Eldest son says we should leave milk out instead, cos
he is driving but tradition is tradition, I say.
So on Christmas Eve night, I have to eat a bit of the
carrot which has been thrown out in the garden to make
it look chewed, but I also get to drink the whiskey.ReplyBack to forum
