Is the Dubliners' The Old Triangle the same song as The Auld
Triangle on the Pogues' Red Roses for Me? I'm presuming it will
be. Love that song and didn't realise The Dubliners sang it too
(have just checked the CD and see that Brendan Behan wrote it -
wow, learn something new every day). Would have to take Red
Roses to my desert island as well. I like the Dubliners very much
too but hadn't come across that song by them, will try to get hold
of it online (love also the Rare Old Times (Dublin city), Whisky in
the Jar (of course), and Black Velvet Band). This Desert Island
thing has been good in that it gives the opportunity to find some
new tunes - I downloaded the Joan Baez track that was on Alli's
list for example, had never heard it before and it was lovely; also
trying to find some of the stuff on Marco's before seeing what else
folk have mentioned that I've not heard. A good way to discover
some new things. Thanks everyone :-)
(Will have to think very hard about ten individual songs I would
take. Might be too hard.)
