yes,very poetic Eric. You should really try writing
some of those TV/Film scripts instead of "just"
translating them - you've got a fertile enough
imagination( helped by long hours in the company of
TW, of course). Back to Bukowski for a minute....check
out his introduction to John Fante's re-issued novel
Ask The Dust;a really poignant and sharp piece of
writing by CB. By the way, Fante's novel is incredible
(Bukowski's major influence),not least because it was
written in the 1930's and must have been regarded as a
real oddity at the time.You can trace a line from Ask
The Dust through Kerouac & the beats, Bukowski etc,
and i'm sure that Waits must have read it too.
