My first experience with his music was on Friday 19
Nov of this year, didn't know the man at all, a
friend of mine had a spare ticket, and I went to the
show with him. Funny music I must say. Did he make a
lot of records? And does he write all his songs
himself, or are they covers?
Joking, sorry... only joking... Real story will
follow, although I do not actually recall the first
time. I do have all his work on vinyl, as well as on
cd (with the exception of Night on Earth and one of
the Early Years records, which I only have on vinyl
(I think), so I guess I must have started pretty
early. I missed his show in my hometown though, in I
think 1985, so I assume that I got to know him second
half of the eighties. Anyway, fully addicted ever
since, although I also have other favourite
musicians, most of all John Cale, John Hiatt, Nick
Cave, Arno Hintjens. But Waits stands far out on top
(which is probably incorrect English)...
