I have no idea Johnny, you seemed to know a lot about
the two. I was just walking the dog, (literally I
mean, five minutes ago) and kept thinking about your
remarks on the old men. For instance, I also never
thought about Sinterklaas as a Catholic man, I mean,
yes he is a saint, but the whole Sinterklaas feast
has no religious connotations to the people who
celebrate it here, unless I am very much mistaken,
which is possible. We do not think of a Catholic
Saint thowing Catholic candy into the shoes (shoes),
we think of Sinterklaas, the friendly old man with
the beard who knows everything, who has a wharehouse
with packages somewhere in Spain, and who for some
reason each year decides to step into a boat and head
off in the direction of Holland and Belgium and maybe
other countries too then, that I know nothing about
(yet), and that's it. But maybe Marco knows more
about this too, or the Rijksmuseum...
