I don't quite understand all the arguments about "true
fans", "concert tickets going to a real fan" and
similar.
Tickets are sold in (obviously) limited number, so
there will always be true fans that will not have the
chance to go to the shows.
Also, touting has been always of this world, as well
as complimentary tickets for press and VIPs.
I find quite pretentious to claim that the tickets
shall go to "real fans": how shall they be assigned?
By giving a test ("Could you please quote the first
two lines of Fumblin' with the Blues?"). By showing
all the cds, together with relevant receipts and
scratches that testify he listened to them more than
once?
What is all this hatred toward people paying on e-bay
twice or three times the face value? Do you think
someone spends 300ˆ for a show if he is not a real fan?
I personally attended all three berlin shows, I have
spent an average of 200ˆ for each of the six tickets I
got through e-bay, I consider myself a fan of TW (even
if I don't spend my life listening only to his
records - btw I cannot remember the first two lines of
Fumblin' with the Blues): shall I feel myself guilty
that I may have stolen the seat to six TW fans who
were "more true fans" than me?
Of course this comment refers only to those people
hitting always the same "true fan" chord.

When I get angry for something that went wrong, my
girlfriend tells me "that's life, sweetheart"

Cheers
Zimbra
